The Water Park Flow software application is a water, energy and sustainability operations platform built for water parks. It answers three questions every morning: is the park staying inside the law, is it operating efficiently, and is anything wrong. The the software application also looks ahead using AI predictive analytics to warn the water park owners, engineers, and maintenance crews before a trend becomes a major problem.

Water Park Flow Software Application Details

The Water Park Flow software application receives the data automatically from the water park machines over the network. It acts as a centralized server that seamlessly captures real-time water levels, flow rates, and electrical usage via industrial LAN protocols. The weather forecast data is automatically updated every morning and reports can be sent using a set schedule or generated on demand.

Owners, engineers and maintenance crews all have individual logins with user level privileges.

Dashboard and Status Board

• One dashboard for every park in the company, each with a status board for Compliance, Efficiency and Problems, a green, amber or red level and a plain reason for each.
• Full park cards with the day's weather from the forecast, water and electricity against the model, the scorecard grade, a 14 day water chart and the open alerts.
• Month to date water, electricity, cost, carbon, recycled water and guests for every park and for the whole company, each against the same period last year.
• Sustainability Scorecard: an A to E grade per park on recycled water rate, water per guest, energy per guest, carbon per guest, permit compliance, water quality and equipment condition, with the trend on each.
• Path to Net Zero: the straight path from each park's baseline year to its target year against what it has actually emitted, with the gap, the reduction since baseline and the cut needed each year.

Water and Energy Tracking

• Per ride and whole park tracking of fresh water, electricity, utility cost and carbon.
• A physical model that works out what each ride should have used from the weather, attendance, pump sizes and operating hours, so every reading is checked against what the day justified.
• Evaporation, splash out, backwash, rain gain and recycled water rate for every ride.
• Pump energy from rated power, load factor, variable speed drives and idle share, with peak demand and demand charges.
• Daily weather from Open Meteo with a year of history, or a synthetic climate model for offline use.
• Utility rates per park with tiers, demand limits and sewer charges, in the park's own currency and units.

Alerts and Predictive Analysis

• Thirty six alert types covering leaks, pump wear, filter pressure, overnight running, suspect readings, permit and daily limit projections, demand limits, equipment age, water chemistry, test frequency, checklists, inspections, work orders, assets, backwash, chemical stock and spare parts.
• Advance warnings before a limit is crossed, not after.

Compliance

• Municipal water permit tracking with daily and monthly limits, month to date use, the projected month end and the date the limit would be crossed.
• Water chemistry standards profile per park: CDC Model Aquatic Health Code, British Columbia Pool Regulation, Ontario Regulation 565, Nova Scotia Aquatic Guidelines or custom, with every limit editable.
• Water quality log for free and combined chlorine, bromine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid and water temperature per pool, checked against the profile as you save, with excursions, actions taken and test coverage.

• Filters and backwash log with differential pressure, water to waste and pressure based backwash alerts.

• Condition readings from pumps (vibration, bearing and motor temperature) and indoor humidity, with alarm zone alerts.

How A Water Park Can Achieve Net Zero Carbon

How is it possible that a water park that always needs water and electricity can achieve net zero carbon by a target year?

Net zero means net zero carbon, not zero water and electricity usage. The parks will always pump water and run rides. The target is that the carbon those activities put into the air, net of what the park removes or avoids, reaches zero. A water park gets there in three layers.

First, use less: Variable speed drives and pump scheduling, backwashing on pressure instead of the calendar, pool covers overnight, heat recovery, LED lighting, and stopping the leaks and the overnight running that the app already hunts for. That is the part Water Park Flow measures day by day, and it typically takes 20 to 40 percent off.

Second, change where the energy comes from: Put solar on the roofs and car parks, buy renewable electricity or certificates from the utility, and replace gas water heating with heat pumps so the remaining energy is electric. As the grid itself gets cleaner every year, the same kilowatt hour carries less carbon.

Third, offset what is left: The last slice, usually a few percent, is covered by buying verified carbon removals. In the software application, the carbon figure is electricity times the grid factor for the location plus water times a supply factor, so it already falls as the park uses less and as the grid factor comes down. The dashed line is the plan the water park has committed to, a straight slope from the baseline to the target year, and the chart's job is to show whether the actual line is keeping up with it.

Whether a given water park hits its target year depends on how well the water park operates efficiently. The software application analyzes and tracks the operation details every month. This shows how far off or on the the path they are and the retrofit scenarios show what each project would do to the sustainability line.
